Samvel Babayan Prepares for Elections Amid Incident at School in Artsakh
In recent days, Samvel Babayan, the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, has become particularly active in Artsakh. This is reported by the newspaper 'Haykakan Zhamanak'. Babayan is holding meetings with various political forces in Artsakh, negotiating on different issues, and even visiting schools to meet with teachers. However, in many cases, he faces rejections as many political forces do not wish to meet with him, considering him to be aligned with Nikol Pashinyan.
Moreover, we have learned that a recent incident occurred at one of the schools. Babayan went there to meet with the teachers but was sharply rejected; they did not wish to meet with him.
There is a prevailing impression among the people of Artsakh that Babayan is preparing for elections, attempting to gather an electorate for himself. He has even rented offices in various settlements for a three-month period, which serve as his campaign headquarters.
It remains unclear why Babayan has hopes for elections, but it is a fact that especially after the war, he is considered an undesirable figure there.
