Kazakhstan to Implement Goods Traceability System with EAEU Countries from April 1
Starting April 1, 2023, Kazakhstan will introduce mandatory documentation of accompanying shipping documents for goods in mutual trade with EAEU member states. This measure aims to reduce shadow circulation and eliminate losses in tax revenues (VAT), as reported by Zakon.kz.
Previously, the accompanying shipping documents were implemented in a pilot mode on a voluntary basis since December 2020, according to the press service of the Committee of State Revenue of Kazakhstan.
The goods traceability system is designed to be processed electronically before crossing the border, thereby eliminating the opportunities for intermediaries, fake recipients and senders of goods, bankruptcies, the dissolution of individuals, and other fraudulent documentations.
Thus, the implemented system will allow the automation of the control process for the movement of goods across the border, believes the Committee of State Revenue.
