Large quantities of drugs, firearms, $51,900, and €187,700 were seized during a police operation based on operational data received by the criminal police. On March 21, a search was conducted in an entrepreneurial space owned by a 43-year-old resident of Yerevan, as part of a criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee's Yerevan division.
The search involved not only police and Investigative Committee officers but also employees from the State Revenue Committee's anti-smuggling department. A significant amount of drugs was discovered, including more than 23 grams of cocaine, over 627 grams of methamphetamine, 1 kg and 435 grams of marijuana, 237 grams of ecstasy, over 8 grams of heroin, hash oil, opium, methadone, and other narcotics.
Authorities also found a substantial quantity of various psychoactive pills, including Subutex, pregabalin, diazepam, and lorazepam. In addition, they confiscated a combat pistol, a rifle, an air gun, $51,900, €187,700, gold rings, chains, gold coins, gold ingots, and diamond stones.
The 43-year-old man has been arrested, and circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation. According to G. Shamshyan’s information, among those detained is also Vardan Hakobyan, the son of Hakob Hakobyan, known to the public as 'Lady Hakob' and a well-known owner of a fruit and vegetable market in Malatia.
