Video: Cherry Trees Planted in Place of Cut Limes at Cascade
Following the tree cuttings that took place yesterday at the Cascade, the Yerevan Municipality planted the first replacement trees today. This was reported by Sputnik Armenia.
Here, the large linden trees that were cut down are being replaced with Japanese cherry trees. According to the municipality, over 2,000 valuable and decorative trees older than 10 years will be replaced and installed throughout the city in order to restore the city's green fund.
It is worth noting that early yesterday morning, employees of the "Greening and Environmental Protection" municipal enterprise were cutting down trees in the city center, which had led to public dissatisfaction and criticism.
