Moses Hakobyan: "I Haven't Received an Invitation. I Have Repeatedly Said I Won't Attend That Commission"

According to the newspaper "Zhoghovurd," the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharyan, who also leads the parliamentary commission investigating the circumstances of the 44-day war, recently presented the names of military personnel and high-ranking former officials who have not appeared before the investigative committee.

According to Kocharyan, these individuals are constrained and fearful because they have something to hide, which is why they refuse to come to the National Assembly. Among the individuals Kocharyan mentioned were Tiran Khachatryan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanian, former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan, and former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Moses Hakobyan.

We inquired with former Chief of the General Staff Moses Hakobyan about why he has not attended the commission, and he stated that he has not received an invitation, but even if he did, he would not go. “I haven't received an invitation. I have repeatedly said I won’t attend that commission,” he remarked.

When asked why, he responded that he doubts the impartiality of the commission. Hakobyan stated, “I have no desire to discuss their activities; for me, that commission does not exist.”

Incidentally, the former Chief of the General Staff, General- Lieutenant Onik Gasparyan, who initiated a process demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following the war, participated in a session of the investigative committee on March 16, after which Andranik Kocharyan expressed commendatory remarks about him.
