Earthquake Recorded in Iran's Khoy Town; Felt in Armenia as Well

An earthquake has been registered 23 km southeast of Khoy, Iran, on March 24, at 07:16 local time (03:16 GMT). According to the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations' seismic protection territorial service, the earthquake occurred at geographic coordinates of 38.48° north latitude and 45.21° east longitude, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 5.3.

The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral area reached 7 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was felt in the Syunik region with an intensity of 3-4, while Vayots Dzor, Ararat regions experienced it at 3, and Kotayk region at 2.
