“There is a threat of new aggression against both the RA and the Artsakh,” says Mirzoyan
There is a danger of escalation from Azerbaijan. During a Q&A session with the government, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this in response to a question regarding the existence of such escalation.
“The threat of aggression from Azerbaijan is always present, regardless of the negotiations and the constructive approach exhibited by the RA during these talks. These days, when we are witnessing sharp rhetoric and threats, we must acknowledge that there is a danger of new aggression against both the RA and Artsakh. Incidentally, in the case of Artsakh, this danger is manifested in ethnic cleansing and genocidal policies,” said Mirzoyan.
At the same time, Mirzoyan commented on the recent statement adopted regarding the blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, noting that it was necessary. He emphasized that the international community has a role to play and must take more effective measures in this direction. “The decisions of the International Court of Justice are legally binding, and failure to comply with them should result in consequences; otherwise, the entire system of international relations will not function at all,” he added.
