New Resignation at Yerevan City Hall: 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' reports: Yerevan Mayor Harutyun Saroyan's resignation has been followed by additional resignations. His allies are also departing. On the same day as his resignation, which was on a Friday, the chairman of the metro board Hayk Hovhannisyan and the chief secretary of the staff Seyran Mejlumyan also submitted their resignations. There were rumors that the city council's ruling party member Armen Galjyan would be appointed as the staff secretary; however, according to our sources, they will not allow the acting mayor Levon Hovhannisyan and Armen Galjyan duo to control the city's administrative powers. The head of the Urban Development and Land Control Department, Sevak Asatryan, has also tendered his resignation.
