Why is Onik Gasparyan Still Silent, Given That His Subordinate Commanders Have Been Arrested? Abrahamyan

The Secretary of the "Honorary Mission" faction in the National Assembly, Tigran Abrahamyan, writes:

“A few days ago, Onik Gasparyan, who held the position of Chief of General Staff during the war, appeared before the parliamentary inquiry commission. What was discussed during the six-hour session of the commission is hard to say, because the only person to present the details of the meeting was the head of the commission, Andranik Kocharyan, who, of course, framed it in preferred formulations and under the slogans of the ruling party.

But why is Onik Gasparyan still silent?

During this time, commanders under Gasparyan's command have been arrested, and the ruling power, which invited him to the commission, continues to undermine the military construction system before and after the war, discrediting the military to the end, while Onik Gasparyan remains silent.

In another military's case, our expectations would have been slightly different, but in the overall picture, General Gasparyan has been a key player; during the war, he was the number one military leader and does not have the right to simply appear at the commission and wait quietly for his turn.

Or does Gasparyan hope that no one will come after him? Are the praises of Andranik Kocharyan enough, or does he believe there are guarantees that he will be left in peace?

In any case, Onik Gasparyan is obliged to respond both to the visit of the inquiry commission and to the cases against the commanders under his command, ranging from Grigori Khachaturyan to Mikael Arzumanyan. If he had not realized that he has moral obligations, there are written and unwritten laws to consider, so my words should be taken as a reminder/advice; otherwise, my next commentary on this issue will be incredibly painful.”
