It is worth recalling that recently, Azerbaijani wrestler Rahim Hasanov, who fought against Armenia's representative Karapet Manvelyan, was disqualified. Following the win, Manvelyan approached Hasanov to shake hands; however, the latter struck the Armenian wrestler.

“From the very beginning, it was clear that this athlete was weaker than Karapet. Although we did not initially expect such a clean victory from Karapet, he extended his hand, and instead, he was hit. Perhaps the Azerbaijani was very offended. He approached outside and shook Karapet's hand. The coaches also came over and apologized to us, and I said not to mix sports with politics,” said the national team head coach, Armen Babalyan, during a press conference.
