US Calls on China to Achieve Withdrawal of Russian Troops from Ukraine

The United States is urging Chinese President Xi Jinping to strive for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine. This was announced today during a press briefing by John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council of the White House.

He reminded that Beijing had previously presented a peace initiative consisting of 12 points, which pertains specifically to the 'respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.' Kirby stated, 'We call on President Xi Jinping to advance this key point, which must include the withdrawal of Russian forces from the sovereign territory of Ukraine, in accordance with the UN Charter.'
