Mirzoyan's Response to Questions About Anti-Russian Sentiment in Armenia

Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, has stated that there is no targeted anti-Russian campaign in Armenia.

He made this remark in response to questions regarding the occasional anti-Russian activities conducted by various political circles in Yerevan. During a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Mirzoyan emphasized that tens of thousands of Russians live in Armenia quite comfortably and are running their businesses and working here, and in this context, no complaints have been received.

This fact evidently indicates the absence of anti-Russian sentiment, the minister noted.

As for protests and demonstrations, Mirzoyan stated that the Constitution of Armenia and its laws guarantee the freedom of assembly, which is not a new development. He mentioned that protests against the country's leadership often take place in Yerevan as well.

The Armenian Foreign Minister declined to comment on the issue of entry bans for certain Russian political figures and heads of media outlets into Armenia.
