Prison Sentence for Violations: Putin Signs New Law
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that criminalizes the illegal export of military goods, technologies, weaponry, or military equipment from the country, as well as handing them over to foreigners. In case of violations, individuals could face up to 12 years in prison.

The federal law amends Article 189 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which establishes criminal liability for the illegal export of goods or technologies, weapons or military equipment from Russia, as well as the unauthorized performance of work or provision of services to foreigners. For the commission of the specified act, a prison term of three to seven years will be imposed.
