Arthur Davtyan is in Artsakh: Will he be appointed as the Chief Prosecutor of Artsakh?

The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "After the position of the Chief Prosecutor of Artsakh became vacant, various names have been circulating for an extended period of time, including discussions that the former Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, Arthur Davtyan, could be appointed to this position.

Yesterday we learned that Davtyan has been in Artsakh for several days, but the presidential office of Artsakh categorically denied the rumors regarding Davtyan's appointment as Chief Prosecutor.

Earlier, we reported that the president might nominate one of the deputies of the current Minister of State, Gurgen Nersisyan, for the prosecutorial position. It is not excluded that Karen Gabrielyan, who is one of the veteran prosecutors but was appointed as the Deputy Chief Prosecutor only on March 15, 2021, may be considered. In the coming days, the president is expected to present a candidate to the parliament."
