5000 Tickets for Armenia-Turkey Match Not Sold to Citizens: Where Have They Disappeared? ‘Zhoghovurd’

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', the Football Federation of Armenia is once again unable to control the sale of tickets for matches and the black market surrounding it. Furthermore, a large number of football fans are simply deprived of the opportunity to watch the Armenian national team play in the stadium.

What is this about? On March 6, it was announced that online sales for Armenia-Turkey football tickets had begun. Tickets could only be purchased online or from the box office of the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium after undergoing identity verification. An individual could buy no more than two tickets. The FFA also stated that ticket sales at the stadium's box office would start later. However, by March 13, it became known that all tickets had been sold out, and no tickets would be available at the stadium's box office.

This situation has sparked outrage among fans and has been the basis for developments in the black market for ticket sales. For example, in the eastern tribune, a ticket that was supposed to cost 3,000-5,000 dram is now being sold for 25,000-35,000 dram, while in the southern and northern tribunes, a ticket that cost 2,000 dram is now 20,000 dram. In the western tribune, the price of a ticket has skyrocketed to 50,000 dram instead of the original 10,000 dram.

Moreover, it turns out that for a stadium that accommodates approximately 15,000 spectators, not all tickets were made available for sale. 'Zhoghovurd' has learned that a decision was made not to sell about 5,000 tickets, but to allocate them to trusted individuals to prevent possible tension at the match. This means that, on one hand, not everyone was able to purchase a ticket, and on the other hand, the FFA is unable to control the black market, allowing resellers to profit unimpeded.
