What Did Shoigu and the Pentagon Chief Discuss: Details

As previously reported, yesterday Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin and Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu had a phone conversation at the initiative of the American side.

The Pentagon has provided details from the conversation between the two countries' defense ministers. Lloyd Austin conveyed to Shoigu that the United States will continue flights over international waters.

Following his conversation with Sergey Shoigu, the U.S. Secretary of Defense stated that great powers should serve as examples of transparency and communication.

"I just finished a phone call with my Russian counterpart, Minister Shoigu. As I have said many times, it is important for great powers to set an example of transparency and communication," Austin said during a press conference, according to РИА Новости.

He once again emphasized that the U.S. will fly where international law allows, and called on Russian military aviation to act in a "safe and professional" manner.
