Sergei Lavrov to Meet with Ararat Mirzoyan in Moscow on March 20

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Moscow on March 20. The information was announced today during a press briefing by the official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

The agenda of the talks will include regional issues, with a focus on the situation surrounding the Lachin corridor and the overall regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh situation, as well as the implementation of the trilateral agreements between the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

The heads of the foreign policy agencies will also discuss steps aimed at developing cooperation and strengthening synergy within the framework of integration projects. It is planned to exchange views on the international agenda and the coordination of actions across various international platforms.

“We expect that the upcoming meeting will contribute to the improvement of the quality of dialogue with Yerevan, as well as to the strengthening of security and stability in the South Caucasus,” Zakharova stated.

It is worth noting that on December 22, Yerevan declined to participate in the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan due to the situation surrounding the Lachin corridor. Discussions about disagreements between Yerevan and Moscow began following the CSTO summit held in Armenia on November 23, when Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan refused to sign two documents, insisting that a political assessment must be given to Azerbaijan's aggression in September.
