Pentagon Has No Information on Whether the U.S. Will Demand Return of Downed Drone

The Pentagon still cannot say whether the United States intends to demand the return of the unmanned aerial vehicle that fell into the Black Sea from Russia, or if it will seek compensation instead. This was announced by Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder during a press briefing on Thursday.

“I don’t know about that,” he said in response to a related question. Ryder also mentioned that he is not aware of any demands to retrieve pieces of drones for U.S. warships through the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits.

It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that a Russian Su-27 collided with an American MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance drone over the Black Sea.
