It is not a coincidence that the killings occurred precisely in the Lachin Corridor: Pashinyan
The International Court of Justice, as is known, announced a decision on February 22, yet the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to illegally keep the only accessible asphalt road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, the Lachin Corridor, closed. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this a short while ago during a government meeting.
“As a result, the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh remains tense. At the same time, we see specific actions by Azerbaijan to escalate the situation militarily along the contact line with Nagorno-Karabakh. The latest manifestation of this was the killing of three police officers in Nagorno-Karabakh. This incident occurred within the responsibility zone of the Russian peacekeeping forces. It is important to note that the Russian Defense Ministry, in a statement issued on March 6, clearly recorded that the initiator of the incident was the Azerbaijani side. The statement also mentions that proceedings are being conducted with the participation of representatives from Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan to clarify the details of the incident. In this regard, I believe that particular attention should be paid to the fact that the killings of Nagorno-Karabakh police officers took place in the Lachin Corridor,” he added.
