Government Allocates Approximately 2.9 Billion Drams for Renovation of Roads
The government has allocated 2 billion 865 million drams to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure for the commencement and completion of construction works on a number of roadways. The project was presented by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan.
“First, we have 5 facilities that were completed last year, and as a rule, we retain 5 percent of that total amount. The commission conducts final inspections; we take the facility into operation and then pay the remaining 5 percent. We will allocate a total of 210 million drams for the payment of 5 percent for these 5 facilities under this project. The others are 6 facilities, 2 of which we started last year but were unable to complete due to various reasons. Now we will continue and finish them this year, and we are allocating funds for these two facilities specifically for the unfinished parts. Moreover, penalties will be applied to the companies since they were supposed to complete them by 2022 and failed to do so.” Gnel Sanosyan further added, “Out of the total 2 billion 865 million drams, 2 billion 813 million is for construction or payment of the 5 percent, 23 million is for technical supervision, and 29 million is for author supervision.”
