Baku Sees Preparations for Genocide Against the People of Artsakh, Says Pashinyan
The military-political leadership of Azerbaijan sees preparations for ethnic cleansing and genocide against the people of Artsakh. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.
“Azerbaijan's state and quasi-state propaganda has been creating an information background for a large-scale attack on Artsakh for a long time, and the trends of escalation are also visible on the ground. Our assessment remains the same: the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan sees preparations for ethnic cleansing and genocide against the people of Artsakh,” Pashinyan said.
He also noted that this is documented in the International Court of Justice's decision on February 22, which clearly states that the closure of the Lachin corridor could lead to irreversible humanitarian consequences for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Pashinyan considers it essential and urgent for Armenia to take measures to prevent genocide and activate international mechanisms. According to the Prime Minister, this refers to mechanisms provided within the framework of the UN.
