VIDEO: Resident Extracts Sand Without Permission; IRS Exposes the Case
The Investigation and Operational-Search Department of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia continues its fight against tax violations and economic crimes. Recently, a case of sand extraction without a subsoil usage permit has been uncovered.
Specifically, operational data was received by the Investigation and Operational-Search Department indicating that sand extraction was being conducted without a license in the Armavir region. To implement the obtained operational data, employees of the Armavir Division of the Investigation and Operational-Search Department of the State Revenue Committee have undertaken extensive operational-search measures to identify the individuals involved, the scope of activity, and the location of operations.
Thanks to the intensified operational oversight conducted around the clock, these measures have yielded positive results. A resident of the Armavir region, R.M., lacking state registration and a subsoil usage permit, extracted sand from a gravel deposit located in the administrative territory of the Nalbandyan community in the Armavir region and transported the extracted gravel mass to another location using his truck, generating commercial income.
It has also been revealed that in February 2023, a total of approximately 150 cubic meters of gravel mass was extracted and transported from the same area by the citizen. As a result, significant damage has been inflicted on the state.
Materials regarding the case have been prepared and sent to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, where a criminal case has been initiated based on Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. At the same time, the materials have been forwarded to the Legal Department of the State Revenue Committee to initiate administrative proceedings based on Article 407 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The Investigation and Operational-Search Department of the State Revenue Committee urges individuals to refrain from engaging in activities without state registration and the necessary permits.
Notice: A person accused of a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
