Change the Wording: Margarita Simonyan Responds to Nikol Pashinyan's Statement

The editor-in-chief of the "Russia Today" news agency, Margarita Simonyan, has responded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement regarding the ban on several Russian figures entering Armenia.

In a post on her Telegram channel, Simonyan emphasized that she has never said anything "about any corridor." She stated that she has spoken and will speak about Pashinyan, asserting that he has "betrayed the Armenian people, sold, and betrayed all Armenian interests that he could betray and sell, and will betray and sell those he has not yet managed to..." According to her, Pashinyan hates Russia and deceives Putin.

Simonyan mentioned that her entry to Armenia had already been blocked due to these words. She noted that this does not concern her much, as she "was not planning to come to Armenia anyway and has only been to Armenia twice in her life." She added, "Under Pashinyan's rule, I would never fly to Armenia. But I am confused by the wording under which my entry has been closed—that is, 'for disrespectful behavior.'"

Margarita Simonyan referred to Nikol Pashinyan as "Effendi," adding that the wording should be changed to "Margarita Simonyan's entry to Armenia is banned due to disgust towards the current authorities."

Recall that during a press conference, responding to a question about the ban on the entry of Konstantin Zatulin, Aram Gabrelyanov, and Margarita Simonyan into Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan said, "Armenia is a sovereign country and has the right to expect respect towards itself" and "has the right to use its sovereign tools to prevent encroachments against its interests." The Prime Minister added, "If someone says that the Armenian government promised a corridor, let them provide evidence." He stressed that "these people must respect Armenia, including the authorities elected by the people."
