Armenia Denies Sending Special Forces to Georgia Amid Protest Claims

The Armenian embassy in Georgia has denied reports circulating in the Georgian media that special forces from Armenia are being deployed to disperse the protests in Tbilisi. This was reported by Alik Media.

The Armenian embassy stated that the information being circulated is false and bears no relation to reality. “We urge and encourage the media to refrain from disseminating such misleading information and not to fall for provocations,” they said.

Earlier, one Georgian media outlet reported, citing an anonymous protester, that special forces from Armenia were being brought to Georgia. “Scandalous information has been spread that special forces from Armenia are being brought to Georgia; everyone speaks in Russian,” the protester was quoted as saying by pirvelinews.com, adding that they have a recording of these Russian conversations.
