Saakashvili to Support Zelensky After Leaving Prison

The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has announced that as long as he is in the country, he intends to assist himself and afterwards will support Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. He made this statement on social media platform Facebook.

“I just want to help you while I am here; otherwise, when I return to Kyiv, I will be completely absorbed in helping Zelensky and may not have time to look back at Georgia,” Saakashvili wrote.

He also noted that he lost consciousness twice during the day. According to him, he will be allowed to see European doctors who will be dealing with him for 10 days.

Saakashvili added that French President Emmanuel Macron demanded the release of the Georgian political figure during a meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Polish government, Petr Müller, expressed the country's readiness to send medical personnel to examine Saakashvili. He stated that Poland is now waiting for the Georgian side's consent.

Prior to this, Saakashvili had announced that he had lost 56 kg (123 lbs). He indicated that several organs would soon weaken as doctors predict the development of multiple organ failure.
