Azerbaijan Undertakes New Provocations: Armenia's Representative at the Council of Europe

In the context of the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, Azerbaijan continues to ignore all calls from the international community, failing to fulfill the obligations it assumed under the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, as well as the binding decisions of the European Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice.

During the March 15 reprimand at the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Armenia's permanent representative, Ambassador Arman Khachaturyan, once again raised the issue of Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor:

• Azerbaijan is undertaking new provocations, attempting to divert the international community's attention from the issue of the Lachin corridor.
• Continuing the blockade of the Lachin corridor, Azerbaijan launched a diversionary attack in Nagorno-Karabakh on March 5, resulting in the death of three police officers from the Artsakh police.
• The actions of the Azerbaijani diversionary group can only be classified as terrorism.
• While creating a humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan is also continuing its acts of terror against the Armenian population by creating inhumane living conditions in their homeland, ultimately aiming to conduct ethnic cleansing.
• Reaffirming Armenia's desire for peace in the region, Armenia once again emphasizes the urgent need for an international fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor to prevent new aggression from Azerbaijan.
