Joint Statement of the Factions of the Artsakh National Assembly

Joint Statement of the Factions of the Artsakh National Assembly

In a few days, it will mark the 100th day of the blockade imposed by Azerbaijan on the 120,000 residents of the Republic of Artsakh. This was stated in the joint statement issued by the factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh.

“Disregarding the decision of the International Court of The Hague regarding the unblocking of Artsakh, the Azerbaijani leadership continues its political course of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh, threatening and using force. In its intention to annex the Republic of Artsakh, Azerbaijan does not shy away from inhumane measures and terrorist acts. Disruptions in the supply of natural gas and electricity, terrorizing the peaceful population, and restricting free movement, along with the recent incident on March 5, where police officers were shot while performing their official duties, serve as proof that under such conditions, discussions about direct dialogue are unacceptable.

At the same time, we are confident that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as a matter of international agenda, should be resolved through negotiations mediated by relevant international structures with guarantees, particularly involving the co-chair countries of the Minsk Group endowed with such authority.

The military-political leadership of Azerbaijan uses various propaganda tricks to misinform its own public and international organizations, aiming to create an illusion of a “peaceful era” amidst the humanitarian pressures and terror being applied against the people of Artsakh.

The factions of the National Assembly of Artsakh, expressing the will and position of the people, demand that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia remain faithful to the decision of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia dated July 8, 1992, and not question the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination.

All factions of the Artsakh Parliament reaffirm their commitment to the fundamental documents expressing the will of our people and will continue to be guided by the ideas and principles derived from them.

“Free Homeland - KMDA” faction
“Unified Homeland” faction
“Justice” faction
“Armenian Revolutionary Federation” faction
“Democratic Party of Artsakh” faction,” the statement reads.
