"Petrosyan has not refused sobriety testing": lawyer on police statement

Lawyer Raffi Aslanyan, referring to the announcement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes on his Facebook page: "The RA Police has just released a statement regarding the incident involving Gevorg Petrosyan, attempting to justify the actions of the patrol officers. First, it is unclear what 'driving irregularly' means, what kind of offense it is, and under which legal act it is defined. Moreover, Gevorg Petrosyan himself has raised the same questions to the patrol officers.

Additionally, G. Petrosyan has not refused sobriety testing, which will be definitively confirmed during the criminal proceedings. Furthermore, at the suggestion of the patrol officers, he went to the appropriate medical center for the test.

Most notably, it is evident even from the police statement that G. Petrosyan has not committed any offense, including not using violence against the patrol officers, for which he is currently detained on direct suspicion.
