Extraordinary Expanded Meeting of the Security Council Held in Artsakh: Topics Discussed Revealed
An extraordinary expanded meeting of the Security Council was held on March 12 under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan.
The discussions focused on the crisis situation that has arisen in the Republic and the existing challenges. The country's leader noted that the challenges posed by the blockade continue to persist, and the recent blockage of the natural gas pipeline from Armenia on March 10 is a further step toward deepening the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh.
President Harutyunyan once again drew the attention of the international community to the 91-day blockade faced by the people of Artsakh. He emphasized that the Republic of Artsakh is attempting to mitigate the severe consequences of the 2020 war; however, it is now confronted with new severe challenges due to the blockade and the threat of the use of force.
The President of the Republic has given specific instructions to the relevant authorities aimed at implementing urgent and important measures in light of the situation.
