351 Flights Canceled Due to Strikes at Airports in Germany
351 flights have been canceled due to security strikes at four airports in Germany. According to Tagesschau, citing the ADV Airports Association, the cancellations will affect the Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, and Hanover airports.
Approximately 100,000 passengers have been impacted. Reports indicate that those whose flights have been canceled will likely struggle to find alternative options.
Protesters explain the strike as a necessity to secure higher wages for night shifts and weekend work. They have also pointed out that employees have been negotiating with the Federal Association of Security Services (BDLS) for wage increases for several years. The last discussion, which took place in 2022, was unsuccessful.
