Russia is the Only Country with Strategic Hypersonic Systems: US Military Intelligence

Russia is the only country in the world that possesses strategic hypersonic systems, stated Paul Freisler, a leading expert in science and technology at the US military intelligence agency. This was reported by Kp.ru.

“The SS-19 Mod 4 (Vanguard) system reached its initial operational capabilities in 2018 and is the only deployed strategic hypersonic system globally,” he said during hearings in the United States Congress.

Freisler mentioned that Washington's rivals are developing systems that could “put the US at risk.” According to him, hypersonic missiles are precisely such systems, designed to evade American sensors and defense systems.

The website notes that earlier, a report released during hearings of the US Senate Intelligence Committee stated that Russia maintains the largest and most powerful stockpile of nuclear weapons and continues to expand and modernize its capabilities in the nuclear weapons sphere.
