Over 820,000 Buildings Demolished in Turkey After Earthquakes

Over 820,000 buildings have been demolished in Turkey following the earthquakes. This information was reported by Говорит Москва.

The Minister of Urban Development, Murat Kurum, announced that the agency has completed the damage assessment in five out of eleven provinces.

According to him, of the 1,706,821 buildings, many have been destroyed or are on the verge of collapse.

In Kahramanmaraş province located in southeastern Turkey, earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6 were recorded on February 6, with a nine-hour interval. The tremors were felt across 11 provinces and in neighboring areas, including Syria. Nearly 48,000 people have lost their lives in the disaster.
