Elon Musk to Build His Own Utopian City in Texas
American entrepreneur Elon Musk plans to build his own city. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources. The construction will take place on land recently purchased by the billionaire near Austin, Texas.
According to the publication, Musk and employees of his companies describe the city as a Texas utopia located along the Colorado River, where employees can live and work. The proposed city will be adjacent to Musk's SpaceX and Boring Company, which are currently under construction.
A group of modular homes, a swimming pool, outdoor sports facilities, and a gym are already in place. According to Texas law, a city can be registered when there are at least 201 residents. The mayor's office stated that no applications have yet been received from the entrepreneur.
The New York Times previously reported that at least 200 people were laid off from Twitter in February. According to available data, this accounts for about 10% of the total number of employees at the company. NYT highlights that entrepreneur Elon Musk, who became the owner of Twitter in October 2022, has been trying to cut costs, which has led to an unceasing reduction in the company's staff.
