Russian Defense Ministry on Ceasefire Maintenance and Negotiations Around the Lachin Corridor in Artsakh

During the past day in Artsakh, no violations of the ceasefire regime have been recorded. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry in its daily briefing.

It noted that Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring at thirty observation posts and are overseeing the maintenance of the ceasefire.

Additionally, the command of the Russian peacekeepers continues to negotiate with the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides for the resumption of unhindered automotive transport along the Stepanakert-Goris route.

“Patrolling has been conducted along three routes in the Martakert, Martuni, and Shushi regions. Russian peacekeepers have escorted a convoy with humanitarian cargo along the Goris-Stepankert route. A humanitarian event was held in the Martuni region where food packages were provided to vulnerable and large families,” the report stated.

The engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping force continue to clear explosive devices from objects and terrain. During the day, an area of 0.2 hectares was cleaned. In total, from November 23, 2020, to the present, 2,515.4 hectares of land, 689.5 kilometers of roads, and 1,940 buildings have been cleared of unexploded ordnance and shells, and 26,779 explosive objects have been discovered and neutralized.

“Ongoing cooperation is maintained with the general staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia to ensure the safety of Russian peacekeepers and prevent possible incidents,” the briefing concluded.
