Russia Offers Unprecedented Military Cooperation to Iran: Pentagon

The Chief of Staff of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, stated at a press conference with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant that Russia has engaged in unprecedented military cooperation with Iran, including in the fields of missile and air defense systems.

“In response to Iran’s support on the Ukraine issue, Russia has offered Iran unprecedented military cooperation, including in the missile and air defense sectors,” said the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

Earlier, the Iranian ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, had announced that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian would visit Russia in March. Jalali then noted that Tehran and Moscow are currently enjoying a golden age of relationship development. According to him, Russia and Iran are gradually advancing in all areas.

In a previous meeting, Alexey Miller, the head of the Russian energy holding Gazprom, discussed bilateral energy cooperation with Jalali.
