Protests in Georgia to Continue: Activists' Statement
Civil activists announced during today’s press conference that the protest scheduled for this evening on Rustaveli Avenue will proceed, despite the authorities' decision to withdraw the controversial 'foreign agents' law.
Tsotne Koberidze, a member of Tbilisi’s Sakrebulo and a representative of the opposition 'Girchi' party, stated that they demand clarity from the authorities regarding how the bill is being withdrawn, as their announcement lacks specifics. Additionally, the second demand is to release those who have been detained.
As previously reported, the 'Foreign Agents Law' has been withdrawn from the Parliament of Georgia. This was announced in a joint statement by the 'Georgian Dream' party and the 'People’s Power' civic movement.
