Closed and Difficult Roads: Snowfall in Some Areas

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the Republic of Armenia. The roads from the ‘Amberd’ high mountain weather station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd fortress and Lake Kari are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is difficult for semi-trailer trucks to navigate. Snowfall is present on the Vardenyats Pass, in the Gegharkunik region, in the city of Jermuk, and on the Saravan-‘Zanger’ road.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
