Body of Soldier Found Hanging from Tree. Investigative Committee Provides Details

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of conscript soldier Andranik Ohanyan in the sixth military investigatory department.

On March 8, 2023, the Armenian Ministry of Defense received a report indicating that the body of Andranik Karoe Ohanyan, a conscript soldier from military unit N, was found hanging in a wooded area adjacent to the military base.

As a result, a criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 522 of the RA Criminal Code, and an investigation is currently underway. A forensic examination of the body has been ordered, and several soldiers from the military unit, including both officers and fellow servicemen, have been questioned.

All necessary and urgent measures are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

It is worth noting that the body of conscript soldier Andranik Karoe Ohanyan was discovered on March 8.
