Iran Warns Against Allowing Israeli Presence in the Caucasus: Abdollahian
The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has stated that the country supports the restoration of relations between Turkey and Syria. This was reported by Tasnim.
“We welcome the restoration of Turkey-Syria relations and are interested in working towards resolving misunderstandings between Syria and Turkey,” said Amir-Abdollahian during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Ankara on Wednesday.
He also mentioned that the presence of the Israeli regime in the Caucasus is one of the critical issues facing the region: “Iran warns all parties to remain vigilant regarding Israel and not to allow Israel's presence in the Caucasus.”
Amir-Abdollahian further noted that terrorism arising from northern Iraq is a common threat to both Iran and Turkey.
