Ust-Ilimsk Hachiko: Dog Waits 2 Weeks for Owner Left on Sidewalk in Russia
In Russia, a dog was left by its owner right on the sidewalk and departed. The animal patiently waited for two weeks for its owner near a road sign, situated 30 kilometers from the city of Ust-Ilimsk in Irkutsk Oblast. Spotting some cars that likely resembled its owner's vehicle, it rushed towards them, leading to an incident where it fell under the wheels. Fortunately, it did not suffer serious injuries. This is reported by Komsolmolskaya Pravda.
It was noted that after newspapers started writing about the loyal animal, local residents immediately named it Ust-Ilimsk Hachiko. Local volunteers have come to its rescue. Hachiko is now undergoing a rehabilitation phase.
