Photos: Azerbaijani Diversion Group Ambushed Near Roadside Forest Area, Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs
According to reports, this morning around 10:00 AM, an ambush by a group of Azerbaijani forces targeting a vehicle of the Police Department of Passports and Visas occurred in a location known as "Khypalu." As a result of the attack, three police officers lost their lives, and one other was injured. This information was provided by the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"The Azerbaijani side is presenting false facts, claiming that firearms were being transported from Armenia to Artsakh by the police vehicle. In reality, no weapons were being transported, and the police officers were heading from Stepanakert to their duty station along the roadside," the statement indicates. The Azerbaijani diversion group had ambushed from a forested area near the road and attacked the vehicle.
The accompanying photos show the scene of the incident and the damaged empty vehicle. It is important to emphasize that the self-defense and deterrent actions of the police officers and the military personnel of the Defense Army positioned nearby resulted in casualties and injuries on the Azerbaijani side as well, forcing them to retreat to their initial positions," the statement continues.
