Lawsuit for Seizure of Illegally Acquired Assets Filed Against More Than 20 Former Officials
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia has initiated 374 reviews in the department for the seizure of illegally acquired assets, established three years ago. To date, 29 lawsuits have been filed with the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia. This information was provided in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia.
It was noted that the lawsuits have been accepted for processing and are currently in the preliminary judicial review stage.
"With these 29 lawsuits, the Prosecutor General's Office requests the seizure of 269 real estate properties, 59 movable assets, interests in 59 companies, as well as a total amount of 62,522,071,224 Armenian drams, 11,070,481 US dollars, and 150,000 euros," the Prosecutor's Office reported, adding that no final judicial act has yet been adopted by the Anti-Corruption Court regarding these lawsuits.
At the same time, the Prosecutor's Office indicated that a claim has been filed against 22 current and former officials and their associated persons.

- Former Minister of Justice and member of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan
- Former Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Vardan Gevorgyan
- Former President Serzh Sargsyan
- Former Member of Parliament and former head of the Enforcement Service of the Ministry of Justice Mihran Poghosyan
- Former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan
- Former NSS official Serob Harutyunyan
- Former Mayor of Yerevan and former Minister of Transport and Communications Gagik Beglaryan
- Former Mayor of Yerevan and Member of Parliament Taron Margaryan
- Former Governor of Syunik Region Surik Khachatryan
- Former Governor of Tavush Region Hovik Abovyan
- Former Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Vahe Nikoyan
- Former head of the Davtashen administrative district of Yerevan Ruslan Baghdasaryan
- Former Mayor of Abovyan Karapet Guloyan
- Former head of the Hrazdan community in Kotayk Region Aram Danielyan
- Former head of the Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan and former Member of Parliament Mher Sedrakyan
- Former Prosecutor General and former Member of Parliament Gevorg Kostanyan
- Former head of the Pre-Revenue Control Department of the Ministry of Finance Vahram Gurughlyan
- Former Deputy Head of the Patrol Police of the NSS Vachagan Ghazaryan
- Former Member of Parliament Manvel Grigoryan
- Former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan
- Former Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan
- Former Ambassador for Special Missions Lyova Sargsyan (and his children)
Regarding the ongoing investigations, the Prosecutor's Office reported that they are confidential and may only be disclosed based on the objectives of the illegal asset seizure proceedings.
It should be noted that the investigations pertain to assets acquired after September 21, 1991, but will primarily focus on the legality of assets acquired in the last ten years.
