The Number of Measles Cases Reaches 12

As of 11:00 AM today, the number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases has reached 12. This information is provided by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.

“All are hospitalized. The health condition of the patients is assessed by specialists as moderate,” the statement reports.

It is noted that on March 3, 11 laboratory-confirmed cases of measles were recorded in the Republic of Armenia. The Ministry of Health reminds that vaccinations against measles are scheduled for children aged 1 and 4-6 years according to the national vaccination calendar.

Parents of children who have not received planned measles vaccinations are urged to visit registration clinics and get vaccinated. The authorities also note that individuals who have been in contact with patients suffering from measles and do not have two doses of measles vaccination should also be vaccinated.

It is important to remember that measles is an acute viral disease with extremely high transmissibility, characterized by rash, dry cough, fever, and other symptoms. The infection is transmitted through the air.
