Relatives of Soldier Palyan Killed in Fire Open Gyumri-Yerevan Road; Suren Papikyan to Meet with Them in Four Days
Relatives of soldier Palyan Poghosyan, who died in a fire last July, have just opened the Gyumri-Yerevan road, which they had closed for several hours. Palyan's father, Jivan Poghosyan, told NEWS.am that Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan expressed a desire to meet with them on March 7.
It is important to note that six months ago, a fire in a wagon-home at a combat position in Syunik claimed the life of their 19-year-old son, Palyan. He sustained injuries from a fire that broke out from a stove installed in the wagon-home designated for the soldiers' rest. Palyan remained in the hospital for 10 days before passing away without regaining consciousness on the last day.
As of now, there are no suspects in the criminal case initiated regarding Palyan Poghosyan's death, and the results of the forensic examination have yet to be disclosed. The parents are dissatisfied with the progress of the investigation and are demanding that the competent authorities provide clear information regarding the status of the criminal case.
