Fines for Exceeding Maximum Weight with Heavy Vehicles in Armenia to Increase from March 23
The Inspectorate for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety of Armenia informs that as of March 23, 2023, a relevant amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses will come into effect, raising the fines for heavy vehicles exceeding the maximum weight allowed on roadways.
According to the current regulations, the penalty for administrative liability was previously set at two hundred times the minimum wage, amounting to 200,000 AMD for all cases of weight excess. However, starting from March 23, the new regulation stipulates that for every ton exceeding the permissible weight, a fine will be charged at the rate of two hundred times the minimum wage. Thus, the heavier the load beyond the allowed limit, the greater the fine will be.
The inspectorate urges legal and physical entities engaged in freight transportation to conduct their operations in accordance with the load requirements set forth by the Government of Armenia's decision No. 1106-N of July 20, 2006.
