Snow, Closed Roads: Situation in the Republic

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed roads within the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

Closed are the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region leading to Amberd Fortress and Karch Lake. Snow is falling in the Aragats region.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the Russian Federation's Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia crisis management center, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
