The captain of the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi, did not buy golden iPhones for his teammates. This was reported by Argentine journalist Gastón Edul on his Twitter, according to Championat.com.

Previously, there were reports in English media stating that Messi had purchased 35 golden iPhones after the victorious 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which marked Argentina's championship win.

It was said that the Argentine star spent around 200,000 euros on this purchase, but according to the journalist, Messi did not make such an expense. It was noted that some businessman bought the iPhones for the Argentinians.

The Argentina national team won the World Cup held in Qatar in 2022, marking their first title since 1986.
