Three Days of Mourning Declared in Greece
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has declared three days of mourning following the deaths of individuals in a train accident, according to the Prime Minister's press service.
The trains collided near the city of Larissa, with the incident occurring around midnight on Wednesday under unclear circumstances at the Evangelismos station, located more than 200 kilometers northwest of Athens. The collision caused a fire, and three carriages derailed.
According to the latest reports, 36 people have died, and 66 have been hospitalized, with six of them currently in intensive care.
In addition, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, have expressed their condolences regarding the train accident.
