A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck 8 kilometers southwest of the city of Malatya, located in eastern Turkey. This information was reported by the website of Turkey's Emergency Situations Authority. It is worth recalling that on the night of February 6, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey, which was also felt in Syria. The death toll in Turkey has exceeded 4,000, while in Syria, according to official data, 1,500 have died. On February 20, additional earthquakes occurred near the border of the two countries.
