It is Very Important to Understand What Price is Paid for the Opening of the Corridor: Abrahamyan
Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the "Honorable Discharge" faction writes on his Facebook page:
“Various sources are circulating rumors about the opening of a corridor connecting Armenia and Artsakh in the coming days. These reports are accompanied by information about Azerbaijan conducting inspections at the ‘Kashen’ and ‘Drmbon’ mines and deploying Azerbaijani scanning equipment in the corridor.
The spokesperson for the President of Artsakh has noted on this occasion that Russia is making efforts to open the corridor in a short time. He also mentioned that an agreement has been reached during a meeting with the Azerbaijanis on restoring gas supply and repairing the electricity line connecting Armenia to Artsakh.
Azerbaijan considers the consequences of its personnel intervention in Artsakh, in the form of the dismissal of the State Minister, as already accomplished within its initiated ‘market’ framework, which has been discussed at a high level.
Regardless of the basis on which the President of Artsakh dismissed the State Minister, Azerbaijan perceives it as its own victory, arguing that Vardanian was an obstacle to the ‘Azerbaijani integration of Artsakh’.
While it is largely clear what other demands Azerbaijan may impose for the opening of the corridor and how many the Armenian side will fulfill, I advise caution ahead of events. I once again emphasize that the opening of the corridor should not be an end in itself; it is crucial to understand what price is being paid for its opening, regardless of who has ‘godfathered’ it.”
